Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday shunted out the District Magistrate (DM) and the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sonbhadra, three weeks after 10 Gond tribals were killed and 28 were injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district over a land dispute. CM Yogi also directed action against 13 other officials after they were indicted in an inquiry into the killing of 10 Gond tribals last month over a land dispute.

From closing schools to allow Kanwariyas to move unhindered on roads to showering petals on them from state-owned helicopters and washing roads on the route-the state government has offered sops by the dozens to Shiva devotees this year.

Awasthi is now the Additional Chief Secretary of Information, Religious Works, Home, Intelligence, Visa, Passport, Jail Administration and Reforms and Vigilance Department. He also continues to hold the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and Uttar Pradesh State Highways Authority (UPSHA) .

Taking note on July 17 Shahberi fallout last year in which nine people were killed, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Wednesday demanded an FIR and NSA against the erring builders and officials responsible for illegal construction.

According to sources, the Yogi Adityanath government plans to modify its policy for the upcoming 'defence corridor' and make arms, ammunition and explosives manufacturing units eligible for incentives. 

Yogi Adityanath, known as a ‘strong nonsense' man in Gorakhpur, proudly informed journalists in January that more than 3,000 encounters had taken place in his regime in which 69 criminals were gunned down, 838 sustained injuries and 7,043 were arrested. And as the government completed two years in office, as many as 11,981 criminals got their bails cancelled and surrendered in court. 

The Chief Minister, who was in the village where a clash over land claimed 10 lives and leftover two dozen injured on Wednesday, said, "This incident is a big political conspiracy. The foundations were laid in 1955 when the land was transferred to a trust set up by a Congress Rajya Sabha member. In 1989, the Congress government in UP transferred the land to individual members of the trust."

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is slated to visit violence-hit Sonbhadra today, where he will meet the family members of those killed over a land dispute in Sonbhadra. Yogi Adityanath will also address a press conference in Ubbah village later during the day. On Saturday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had met the families of those killed in Sonbhadra tragedy.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will on Sunday visit Ubbah village in Sonbhadra district to meet the families of 10 people who were killed in a clash over a land dispute, an official said on Saturday.

Yogi said the land dispute, which led to the clash was old and was there since 1955 and there were a number of cases pending in revenue courts and criminal cases filed by both factions. Additional Director General (Varanasi Zone) has also been asked to probe cases registered between two sides in Sonebhadra before July 17, the CM said.

Condemning the violence in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said a 3-member committee has been formed to probe the case, which will submit its report in 10 days. Yogi Adityanath has also assured strict action against those found guilty in the Sonbhadra incident. Nine people had died after a dispute over land broke out in Ubha village of Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.

“I appreciate the security arrangements made during my visits to the state but I request you to keep the security cover to minimum so that people do not face any inconvenience,” Priyanka Gandhi wrote.

At least nine people were killed and 25 others injured in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra after violence broke out in the region over a land dispute.

The Allahabad High Court's special court for MPs and MLAs, on Tuesday, dismissed the 1999 case of the murder of head constable Satya Prakash Yadav against the Chief Minister.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought a report from the UP government into the incident in which over 50 students were injured after a high-tension wire fell into a primary school in Balrampur district.

The state government will provide all possible help for the same and once the plan is prepared, it will be implemented effectively in a time-bound manner, he said.

  The suspended officials included the chief veterinary officer of Mirzapur and three other government vets in Ayodhya. Along with the suspensions, Adityanath on Sunday night also issued a stern warning to officials to maintain cow sheds properly otherwise they will also have to face similar consequences. 

Principal Secretary, Information, Avanish Awasthi admitted that a clash took place while the children were playing cricket but denied that the students were made to chant the religious slogan.

During the investors' summit held in 2018, the Uttar Pradesh government had signed MoUs for an investment of Rs 4.68 lakh crore with various public sector undertakings, private companies and industrial houses.  

Yogi Adityanath instructed the officials concerned to review the status of complaints on IGRS portal and the Chief Minister's Helpline every month for time-bound settlement of the problems. The chief minister instructed officials to prepare a work plan in 10 to 15 days and asked them to share a copy of it with the Chief Minister's Office.
